Award Given to CNA of the Year
October 12, 2018Texas County Memorial Hospital has named Marlene Collins of Houston the September Employee of the Month.
Collins is the assistant supervisor in the dietary department at TCMH. She has been employed at TCMH for 33 years. Collins was nominated by her supervisor, Jeff Ijames, dietary department director.
“Marlene is always working hard to make sure things get done well for TCMH and the dietary department,” Ijames said. He added, “She must be the most dedicated employee TCMH has ever had.”
Ijames described Collins as a “hero—one greatly regarded for her achievements and qualities.”
“She gives outstanding customer service to all her customers,” Ijames said. He further explained that dietary can rely on Collins to come in if needed, even if it is her day off.
“Most people get in trouble for not working enough; Marlene gets in trouble for working too much,” Ijames mentioned.
While Collins is currently the assistant supervisor in the dietary department, she has worked in many roles within the department over the last 33 years, including the dietary department director.
Collins has previously earned awards for both TCMH Employee of the Month and Manager of the Year.
As Employee of the Month, Collins received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a $50 gift card, and gift certificates to Paws N Claws, D&L Florist, Blissful Nirvana Massage, Wehr Motors, Savor Grill, and Big Red Car Wash. A reception will be held at the hospital in honor of Collins.
Collins is eligible for the 2018 TCMH Employee of the Year Award.
