August 2, 2013Texas County Memorial Hospital has named Lisa Merritt of Houston the July employee of the month.
Merritt is a licensed practical nurse working with Dr. Diana Koenig in the TCMH Family Clinic in Licking and in the Summersville Community Clinic. Merritt has worked for the hospital for almost 13 years. Merritt was nominated for the award by Koenig.
“Lisa loves her job and is a pleasure to work with,” Koenig said. “The patients always come first with Lisa, and she communicates politely and efficiently with all of them.”
Koenig explained that recently Merritt performed the Heimlich maneuver on someone in the clinic to save their life. Merritt also helped the Summersville Community Clinic get designated as an Air Evac landing site, so area Air Evac members would not be charged for a ride by a different air ambulance service.
As employee of the month, Merritt received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; $100 cash; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a $50 gift card; gift certificates to Paws N Claws, D&L Florist and Janstiques, and cd of the month from Big Country 99. A reception will be held at the hospital in honor of Merritt.
Merritt is now eligible for the 2013 TCMH employee of the year award.
