Medical Surgical is an all-inclusive unit that provides personalized care to newborns through geriatrics.

The staff is here to provide you with courteous and individualized attentive service through skilled-care nursing. The Medical Surgical staff includes unit secretaries, Certified Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses. Staff are trained in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. The unit offers one-on-one teaching for diabetes, nutrition, social services, and wound care. The swing bed program offers people the skilled care they need until they are ready to be on their own again or rejoin the nursing home.

Social Services

The Social Services Department coordinates multiple facets of care while a patient is hospitalized and also helps provide continuity of care and a smooth transition when leaving the hospital. The department also acts as a liaison between the patient, hospital personnel, and community agencies and resources. The social services team is available by phone 24 hours a day for emergencies or crisis situations.

Social Services responsibilities include:

  • home care arrangements
  • durable medical equipment provisions
  • long-term care arrangements
  • advanced healthcare directive information
  • financial resource information
  • emotional support for patients and families.
