Karen Ducker is July Employee of the Month

Texas County Memorial Hospital has named Karen Ducker of Seymour the July Employee of the Month.

Ducker is a medical laboratory technician in the laboratory at TCMH. She has been employed at TCMH for a little over a year. Ducker was nominated by her supervisor, Evania Ryan, laboratory director.

“Karen has proven herself to be an invaluable employee over the last year,” Ryan said. She added, “She always volunteers to work the extra shifts to help her coworkers. She switches, covers, comes in early, and helps out with holidays without a word of complaint.”

“Karen is awesome at maintaining a good attitude even in stressful situations,” Ryan said. She explained that Ducker uses criticisms as a learning tool, and she is always working to do the best job possible.

Ryan explained that Ducker goes out of her comfort zone to make sure patients are taken care of. Ducker learned to draw blood so she could help the phlebotomists when they are busy during the night shift, to ensure patients receive services as quickly as possible.

As employee of the month, Ducker received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a $50 gift card, and gift certificates to Paws N Claws, D&L Florist, Blissful Nirvana Massage, Wehr Motors, Savor Grill, and Big Red Car Wash.  A reception will be held at the hospital in honor of Ducker.

Ducker is eligible for the 2018 TCMH employee of the year award.
