TCMH Hospice of Care Online Auction & Wrap-Up Party Sets New Record, Raising $38,454.64

The TCMH Healthcare Foundation announced that this year’s Hospice of Care Online Auction and new in-person Wrap-Up Party set a new all-time fundraising record, bringing in $38,454.64 to support the Hospice of Care program at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

The hybrid format, online bidding throughout the week, capped with a live auction-style finale at Piney River Brewing on Friday night, helped drive engagement and push the event past last year’s record total.

“Every time we think we’ve hit the ceiling on what a rural community can do, Texas County knocks out another wall,” said Jeff Gettys, President of the TCMH Healthcare Foundation. “Breaking another record is exciting, but what really matters is what it represents, neighbors stepping up for neighbors. The energy at the Wrap-Up Party, combined with the online bidding all week long, showed just how strongly people believe in keeping high-quality healthcare close to home.”

Funds raised through the auction help the Hospice of Care team provide comprehensive end-of-life support for patients and families in Texas County and the surrounding area. Dollars from the event help fill critical gaps supporting services, supplies, and care needs that go beyond what traditional reimbursement often covers.

“This record total directly translates into more support, more comfort, and more dignity for our patients and their families,” said Cheryl Maley, Director of TCMH Hospice of Care. “These gifts help us provide medications, equipment, nursing visits, caregiver support, and bereavement services, regardless of a family’s ability to pay. When people bid on an auction item, they may not see the bedside, but they are absolutely part of the story happening there. We cannot thank our supporters enough.”

The auction featured a wide variety of items contributed by local individuals, businesses, and organizations, with supporters participating both online and in person. The Wrap-Up Party at Piney River Brewing created a celebratory finish to the event, giving attendees the chance to gather as a community, enjoy the evening, and bid live on select items to close out the auction.

“The success of this event belongs to our donors, sponsors, bidders, and volunteers who helped us bring the Wrap-Up Party to life,” Gettys added. “It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a rural community rallies around a mission as important as hospice care.”
