Whitney Young Receives National Medical Examiner Certification

Whitney Young, physician assistant at the Texas County Memorial Hospital Family Clinic in Licking, has received certification as a medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

To achieve certification with the FMCSA, Young completed required training and testing. She is listed in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. Young is certified and qualified to provide physical examinations for class E commercial drivers.

Beginning in 2014, commercial drivers were required to be examined by a medical professional listed in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners to obtain a medical certificate. An up to date medical certificate is part of the commercial driving license and required by the Department of Transportation.
