Flores Named Employee of the Month

Texas County Memorial Hospital has named Tina Flores of Raymondville the February employee of the month.

Flores is a cook in the dietary department at TCMH, and she has worked for the hospital for five and a half years.  Flores was nominated for the award by Jeff Ijames, TCMH dietary department director, and Terri Combs, TCMH infection control nurse manager.

“Tina is very professional in dealing with patients,” Ijames said, adding, “She always knocks when delivering meals to patient rooms and asks if the patient needs anything else before leaving the room.”

Combs explained that Flores “maintains compliance with hospital policy” by wearing a mask to protect patients and fellow employees during influenza season and by practicing hand hygiene before delivering patient food trays.

“Tina is pleasant and accommodating, providing good customer service to everyone she encounters,” Ijames said.

As employee of the month, Flores received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; $100 cash; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a $50 gift card; gift certificates to Paws N Claws, D&L Florist and Janstiques, and cd of the month from Big Country 99.  A reception will be held at the hospital in honor of Flores.

Flores is eligible for the 2013 TCMH employee of the year award.
