May 18, 2018Texas County Memorial Hospital has signed a two-year contract with Richard E. Moore, MD, a board-certified anesthesiologist with extensive experience in pain management procedures.
Moore will begin working one day a month at the TCMH Outpatient Clinic on Thursday, May 31.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to start a brand new pain management clinic at TCMH in Houston,” Moore said. “I want the new service to be a success for the hospital and the community.”
Moore is retired from full-time practice. Citing his love for medicine and patients, Moore continues to work on a part-time basis.
“The part I enjoy the most about being a physician is helping my patients improve and get better,” Moore said. “I am just a tool in God’s hands, and He continues to use me to help others.”
“We are very fortunate to be able to open a pain management clinic on our Houston campus,” Wes Murray, Texas County Memorial Hospital chief executive officer, said.
“Pain management is a service line we have not been able to offer until now,” Murray said. “The demand for this service is huge, and we anticipate that Dr. Moore will become busy right out of the gate.”
Moore spent the majority of his medical career practicing in southeast Missouri. He practiced as an anesthesiologist in Cape Girardeau from 1981 until the summer of 2016.
Residing close to family is important to Moore and his wife Becky of 19 years.
“Becky is from Arkansas and I promised her that we could move back there if we could live in Missouri until I retired from my position in Cape Girardeau,” Moore said.
Moore made good on his promise to Becky, and in August of 2016 Moore opened his own pain management practice in Conway, AR called Pinnacle Pain Management.
More received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, a Master of Science degree in ceramic engineering, and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in ceramic engineering from the University of Missouri in Rolla.
Moore received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he also completed his residency in anesthesiology.
Moore plays piano, and he enjoys reading scientific, esoteric, historic, and humorous books in his spare time.
Together, the Moore’s enjoy traveling and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They currently reside in Conway, AR.
